Worth Every Penny, Great Deal! September 1, 2009 Michael Masjuan (Las Vegas, NV) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I purchased this Mcklein leather bag to replace my 20 dollar canvas-like rollaway I had bought earlier this year for my DJ gear. I absolutely love the pockets and amount of space it has. I'm able to fit my 17" HP laptop (dv71245dx) in the laptop compartment with no extra room to spare but it still fits nice. The other compartment holds my 10" netbook, large notepad, microphone, and still has room for stuff like a bottle of water, deodorant, shaving cream, etc. The power cables for each laptop are kept in the 2 zip up compartments back where the handle base is. These zippers are also used to separate the bag from the rollaway unit which is another great feature, but I don't see the need to remove the bag. The wheels are super smooth, and most importantly the bag feels sturdy and stands up straight when fully loaded with stuff, which my other bag tended to lean forward when fully loaded. The front 2 pockets are great for cell phone and keys and has plenty of room as well as pen holders. It says it's "genuine cowhide leather" if you are wondering about leather quality. It's not fine leather jacket quality but it's great for 100 bucks.
Well Designed with business in mind January 30, 2009 Michelle Innella (florida) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have a bad back, and for work I am a road warrior at times. I have had other rolling laptop cases before in nylon and in leather. But my other rolling bags were too bulky or too heavy for me in those situations where you should carry your bag because the wheels are too loud on a tile floor and you are with a client. Those other bags, which i purchased to make things easier, seemed to just make some moments harder.
So with this one I can zoom through airports and such with ease with the wheels on. And when I am at my destination and need to walk into a meeting in style, I can unzip the bag from its base, tuck the zippers that attach it to the rolling part attachments into the body of the bag (they have nice zippers compartments to tuck them neatly out of the way and hide the "convertible" element, and walk into the meeting with a sleek, attractive leather briefcase that weighs less than 4 lbs without its base, less than 8 lbs with the wheel base.
I used to stuff a small thin leather messenger bag into my other rolling briefcases for this function. But with this bag, it is all in one.
I have not had it that long, but it looks like it will last a while. I am very happy with my purchase.
Would recommend to friends and colleagues April 25, 2010 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Most of these rolly laptop cases have clothes sections for business travel. I needed one for back and fore to work after injuring my back. This fits my needs perfectly, the best feature is the ability to un-zip the wheels and turn it a regular laptop bag.
Nice item, nice quality February 11, 2009 Lars R. Anderson (No. Illinois) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We bought this for my father-in-law who travels a lot. He hasn't had it long but is in love with it. The zippers can be a bit difficult to re-attach for his less nimble fingers or his weak eyesight, but the convertible feature more than makes up for that. As the other reviewer said, you can zoom thru the airport, than once at your destination just use the case part to carry the laptop around. The leather appears to be good quality, we'll see if the zippers hold up well. I thought it could have been a little cheaper, comparing it to other cases I've had and seen, but I'm sure the uniqueness of the convertible feature means they can get the price for it. Obviously they got it from me. If you need this converting feature - 2 words - BUY IT!
McKlein Roling Briefcase September 19, 2008 Gene L. Mrava (Midlothian, VA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Leather construction very high quality. Easy to remove from the rolling cart portion. However, on my second trip, the telecopic extension stuck in less than full extension. I took the unit apart, and flexed the up/down handle many times. Now it seems OK, but will it last? Overall, a very good product, worth the money.
